Fionn McCoul Air An Traigh

My trip to the beach via the Traditional Tales slot at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on August 17th as part of the Official Fringe no less – we are moving up in the world!

A lovely relaxed hour up in the library at the centre with a nice receptive (paying!) audience – I really enjoyed the flow of the stories and its given me some ideas for a Free Fringe show next year. I knew I’d miss it when I didn’t join in this year but it has given me the opportunity to see a great deal more than I usually have time for – Marjolein Robertson is a new-to-me stand out, as is the developed show A Wolf Shall Devour the Sun with Dougie Mackay and Jemima Thewes. I first saw this when it was a mere puppy show in development two years ago and it has become a fully fleshed marvel in this iteration.

All in all a good Festival and now on to unearth some mythic Scottish royalty for a gig in Holyrood Palace as part of their Family Day in October
